Anna Turmeau was born in York in 1983 and educated in Wakefield. She went on to study for a degree in music at the University of Birmingham graduating in June 2004 before going on to gain a post graduate diploma in oboe performance at the Birmingham Conservatoire a year later. Whilst studying at the Conservatoire, Anna achieved a place on the CBSO training scheme. During her time in Birmingham she worked as a freelance musician playing principal oboe in the inaugural concert of the Telford New Symphony Orchestra in June 2005. Having completed a Masters degree in post diploma orchestral training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2008 she immediately took up the position of Second oboe/Cor Anglais with the Orquestra do Norte, Portugal. During 2009 she became a member of Southbank Sinfonia and now freelances in and around the London area. |
